Material Testing
Louisiana Steel believes in eliminating problems before they occur. Our products undergo numerous inspections throughout the manufacturing process. We provide chemical analysis per ASTM A751 and mechanical testing to ASTM A370. In addition to yield, tensile and elongation testing, we offer an array of mechanical tests including Rockwell hardness, Brinnel hardness and Charpy Impact testing. We can handle any special testing needs you may have.
From the time it hits Louisiana Steel to the time it leaves us, complete traceability is maintained on all products manufactured. The Quality Assurance Department maintains records from all tests performed. Complete mill test reports showing the result of these tests are available to all customers.
